Healdsburg Kiwanis presents its First Annual Texas Hold'em Poker Tournament. All proceeds go to the Healdsburg Kiwanis HHS Scholarship Fund. Since 1926, Healdsburg Kiwanis has celebrated and supported graduating Seniors at Healdsburg High School and in 2023, we gave our 30 Scholarships totaling $30.000. In years past our Club relied on the Fitch Mt. Footrace for our scholarships but this year we have found a new and fun event to support our local students. We have room for 100 players at $100 a person. We have all the food and drinks you need and great prizes for our 8 winners. A great time for a great cause! Tickets below:
If you are having any difficulty buying a ticket, please email Dick Bugarske at rbugarske@gmail.com and he will help you out. Thanks
Thank you to all who came to the Villa and enjoyed a wonderful Pancake Breakfast. Thanks to the wonderful young students from the Scouts, Warm Springs 4-H, and Key Clubbers who helped in so many ways. Picture gallery is below.
(Susan Sheehy & Debby Dormire Photographers) Congratulations to our two Pancake Breakfast poster winners!

Welcome to the Kiwanis Club of Healdsburg. We are members of the community, dedicated to "serving the children of the world". We have been in Healdsburg since November 1923 and continue to support many Healdsburg organizations, families, children and important community needs. Some of the programs we support, sponsor or offer include the Healdsburg High School’s Key Club, the Fitch Mountain Footrace, the Book Project, FFA Food Sales, Pancake Breakfast, and many high school scholarships. Kiwanis is a global organization of volunteers, dedicated to changing the world, one child and one community at a time.
The name "Kiwanis" means "we trade" or "we share our talents." It was coined from an American Indian expression, Nunc Kee-wanis. Kiwanians are volunteers changing the world through service to children and communities. No problem is too big or too small. Why? Because working together, members achieve what one person cannot accomplish alone. When you give a child a chance to learn, experience, dream, and succeed, great things happen! Learn how you can help your community by joining our Healdsburg Kiwanis Club. Call 707-540-1237 Healdsburg Kiwanis Club PO Box 1156 Healdsburg, CA 95448 Thank you to all who helped make the 2024 St. Patrick's Day Celebration a grand event. Hundreds of families joined in the festivities and we all loved the Irish News Boys' band and the Shiloh Step Irish Dancers. Hundreds of toys were given to our young attendees, close to 200 Fairy Houses were built and 300 bags of popcorn, bagels and apple juice were passed out. Great thanks to the City of Healdsburg and Dan Zastrow for their support. Below are some photos from the day.
Healdsburg Kiwanis Supports Elementary School Reading by providing funding for books for 3rd Graders.
(From the National School Board's Association website: The research is clear: if children cannot read proficiently by the end of third grade, they face daunting hurdles to success in school and beyond. Third grade marks a pivot point in reading. In fourth grade, students begin encountering a wider variety of texts. By then, able readers have learned to extract and analyze new information and expand their vocabularies by reading (O’Brien, 2008). But struggling readers rarely catch up with their peers academically and are four times more likely to drop out of high school.) Below are some thank you letters from local 3rd Graders: |
